My first rolls of 120!

These are my first attempts from my 1953 Coronet that I got in London over the summer and my Diana. The Black and White film is from London. I couldn't get the film out of the camera until my friend Gorm was here recently and fixed the camera for me. I got the camera at one of the stands selling older cameras at Portobello Road Market, one of my favorite places in London. Not only are the antique finds fantastic, but the people watching is too. With this camera, you have to shoot from the hip, and there is no shutter speed or aperture settings. I'm looking forward to learning how to use this camera better. 

The next frames are from my new Diana camera that I got for my birthday. I love using this camera! I was also given a lomo ringflash for the Diana as my Christmas gift from the Danes. It's been fun to use on my Diana, but it also works on Nikon and Canon! 

I predict a long, beautiful relationship with my Diana.

Boone Life

This semester, the theme for the photo column, Boone Life is environment. For my story, I chose to make the idea environment the stereotype that LaNee Bridewell faces as a young, black single mother. Working with LaNee was a truly rewarding experience as a photojournalist. I am excited to continue my work on this story as she graduates this month from the University of Missouri and continues onto graduate school. For the Boone Life package, I wrote an article, had a layout in the Columbia Missourian and created a multimedia piece. Click HERE for the multimedia piece. A Rocky Horror Halloween...

This past weekend, the Blue Note screened Rocky Horror Picture Show. This is much more than just a movie, people dress up in costume, there is crowd interaction and lots of singing and dancing. Gameday Gone Wrong: Mizzou defeats OU.

#5. Stockholm. The Reunion.

After the Netherlands, I took a train under the English Channel and spent a week in the United Kingdom with my mother. I'll post those photos soon. After London, I flew back to Denmark and took a train from Copenhagen to Stockholm. Watching the familiar Scandinavian scenery through the train windows almost felt like home. I stayed with my dear friend Jenny at her parents flat in the city center. I also spent time with her wonderful boyfriend Johannes, my other friend from DSJ Katherinne and her boyfriend Mathias. While Jenny worked during the day, I explored the beauty that is Stockholm. Jenny also made sure that I got my fair share of Swedish experiences including, the Stockholm zoo for a Swedish televised sing-a-long and lots of Herring. One of my favorite parts of my trip was our conversations during breakfast on her balcony with a perfect view of the city skyline.  It was a wonderful way to say goodbye to two girls who were a big part of my experience in Denmark.
